Wyoming Wind

I'm still in Wyoming. Arrived Saturday, and my friend and her husband just left this morning on their 5-day trip. So...I'll be here at least another five days with Grumpy and Piddlepotty.

I'm lovin' it! This place is so pretty - all the fields and open spaces. It's been pretty warm and I understand they've been pretty much in a drought situation for the last couple years. We did get a spot of rain last night - and more than just a "spot" of wind. One minute it was just hot and even a little humid...the next it was raining, with the wind whipping the trees around like so many matchsticks. I loved it...of course, it wasn't anywhere near a dangerous level, but it sure cooled things down for the evening. Hopefully there'll be more rain.

Hey, y'all ... don't forget to check out the BIG Goldeneyes Contest on my website. A new winner every month, so even if you entered in June, you'll want to do it again this month. Come on over and take a look at the July prize package - it's unbelievable!

Off Again

Barely got my breath back from our trip, and I'm off again!

My dear friend, "my Julie," invited me to her cozy home in Wyoming to housesit while she and hubby go off to a 90th birthday bash in another state. (Long live the birthday girl!) So I'll be up before dawn tomorrow morning (Ugh! I don't DO mornings!) on an early flight to Cody. From there, Julie and I will drive back to her home in the small town of Greybull. When Julie and her wonderful, handsome hubby Tom are gone, I'll be on my own with their two Pomeranians, Piddlepotty and Grumpy. (Not their actual names, but the ones they've earned with their quite different personalities...) Pray that I don't get eaten alive! LOL

I will be checking in while I'm gone, and hopefully even continuing to post.

Ciao!

Back from Oz

What is it about vacations that zap a person of vitality? They're such hard work! LOL Ever since we returned from our (really great) trip, I've been seemingly incapable of putting two words together - much less being a worthwhile human being in any other area of my life.

We didn't fly, so I can't actually call it jet lag, can I? But still, I'm having trouble getting with the program. Pray for me, y'all! I need it. This decision-making thing...where to live, when to move, weighing all the pros and cons and balancing out all the why's and wherefores...well, I guess it's getting to me.

Anyway, just realized how far behind I am with entries here on The Melody Within. That's got to stop, and right now. Entries are required - it's a self-imposed rule, but one I expect myself to adhere to - at a minimum of once a week. So...here's your chance to put your money where my mouth is. :)

Take a look back over some of my previous entries - no, not the ones on this page that have been sitting here for weeks. Go back into the archives and read some of the stuff I wrote back when I actually took blogging seriously. Which entries did you particularly like? Which did you hate? Which really grabbed your interest, tugged at your heartstrings, made you think about something for more than two seconds? And now for the grabber....

What would you like to see covered here on The Melody Within?

After you've delved into a few of those earlier blogs, come back to this one. Leave a comment and let me know what you think I should talk about. It doesn't have to be anything "deep," or profound, so don't let it keep you up at night, but I really am interested in hearing your opinions.

Hey, let me just add this...THANK YOU to all of you for being so faithful to come back and look in on this page, even when I fail to add anything new for weeks at a time! You guys are the best, and I appreciate you.

And I want to say this, too...thanks also to all of the wonderful ladies who shared their stories of romance in the making, telling all the world how they met their sweethearts. Great stories all, and I enjoyed reading them. Now...which of them can I blend together to come up with a great romance novel...? Hmmm....
