Surviving the Nightmare

I'm starting to breathe again. While things are not perfect (I can't re-claim the old domain), I was able to register another domain name that is fairly close. It still means a lot of marketing material will have information crossed out and written in, but things could have been worse.

That said, I have to accept the lion's share of responsibility for losing the domain name. In all honesty, I truly thought it didn't expire until October. I was wrong. And ... I failed to provide the hosting company with updated e-mail information. (This part really irks me. I don't understand how they could fail to have my new e-mail address, since it was attached to the domain. I was using delia@delialatham.com. How could they not know how to contact me?) Nevertheless, I didn't update.

Be sure to do that, if you have a domain name you're strongly attached to. Update all information and make sure you're up on expiration dates.

And now to update you.

New web address: http://www.delialatham.net

New E-mail: delia [at] delialatham [dot] net (Obviously, you'll need to fill in the bracketed information with appropriate symbols.)

Thanks for listening to me rant. Thanks for your prayers!!!! And thanks for caring.

I'm sorry you had to go through this, but grateful you are in the recovery mode. Sure made me do a double check on my account information.

Many blessings, sweet friend!

This experience has been absolutely horrific for me. (Is that a word?) I can't even begin to say how hard it was to lose that domain name. I'm still reeling, and still trying desperately to cover every possibility of getting the word out to all of the wonderful people who had that information.

I only hope my sharing what happened here will help others avoid the same situation.

Thanks for stopping by, Lisa!
